How Long Your ETA Lasts

Here's how long your UK ETA stays valid, how long each visit can be, and what happens once it expires.

Validity

Your UK ETA stays valid for 2 years, or until your passport expires — whichever happens first. It covers multiple trips to the UK within that time.

Duration of Stay

Each trip allows up to 6 months in the country (3 months under the Creative Worker concession), giving you room to travel, study, or handle short-term business.

Renewal & Extension

ETAs don't get extended. Once yours or your passport expires, a new ETA is needed before you travel to the UK again.
